The Subang-Kelana Jaya link bridge is an elevated highway in Subang Jaya connecting Persiaran Kewajipan to the Subang Airport and Federal Highway.
In February 2010, a fire broke out lasting over 1.5 hours affecting the box girders and several post-tensioned elements. The fire damage resulted in concrete spalling, cracking, exposed reinforcements and damaged tendons.
JTK Consult (JTK) undertook a structural survey to assess the extent of damage. It was found that the fire damage only affected the surface zones within the concrete cover. Some post-tension tendons required replacement. Strengthening by carbon fibre plates and anti-carbonation coating was carried out to restore the integrity of the bridge to its original design intent.
