JTK Consult (JTK) was engaged by JL Resources Sdn Bhd to undertake the structural analysis and design for the proposed common facilities in a Holiday Resort Development in Maldives. JTK was engaged to optimise the timber design by considering the option of a composite provision ie steel frame with timber cladding to bring down the cost of construction.
The phase 1 of the design involved analysis of 5 buildings i.e. the reception building, the observation tower, the departure lounge tower, the pavilion building and the all day dining building.
The designs were done using FEM analysis with ETABS 2013 and also STAADPro V8i due to the complex shapes
